    That reminds me of of an old mate who had been a matelot on HMS Vanguard in the fifties.
    The Queen was aboard for some reason or other and an enterprising young sailor managed to get hold of a royal jobbie.

    Dried out, varnished and mounted on a mahogany plaque, it became a conversation piece.

    It goes to show that sometimes you *can* polish
    a turd...

    I laboriously worked out the "Greedy blue Scots thieves" and the "Blue noses" but beg to suggest that "Lex Salmonum" would have been an improvement on "Sandy Salmond" which, as a pun, was distinctly groanworthy!
