Grandsons 2 and 3 snoring gently, along with exhausted Granny. Bessie, the protective, clucky, one of my dogs curled up near them. The rest, all food possibilities licked, cluster around my feet. I'll try and stay awake for a while...

ReplyDeleteAnd it IS exhausting. The long lazy evenings on the laptop are now over, the house smells of dogs *and* nappies, cbeebies is now the only channel allowed on the idiot box and I've grown another pair of eyes in the back of my head...

ReplyDeleteI love the grandkids but the best part is, having filled them sugar and let them do things their parents NEVER permit, you send them home to let your children deal with the aftermath. Grandparents who have to, themselves, deal with the aftermath have my honest admiration for doing so.
