Hootsmon Headlines

Blogger is being funny again. Is it just me? I can't read or make comments on certain sites...including my own. Ah well, I'll just have to wait until my tame geek finishes Skyrim.

  1. Excellent as ever Conan! The scent of schadenfreude hangs thick in the air this morning...

  2. Oi! Purdie is a French (derived) name not an English one. The first Scottish Purdie was in the Borders around the time of the Crusades.

I watched the parody and thought it reasonably funny. Not as good as some Hitler parodies but better than others. I think it's only the more touchy SNP supporters who are getting the hump about Salmond being compared to Hitler - which he isn't, that's not what the Meme is about.

  3. Thanks Loon.

J, I was looking for a "double barrelled" name.

    I'll get my coat...

    1. If it was the 'double barrelled' one you were looking for I believe it's Purdey, famous gun makers in America I think.

  4. Sorry J, should have checked the spelling, but I'm pretty sure it's a company based in London.

I'm having to sign off and on again to reply...

  5. Ho ho ho... I bet Eck had a good laugh at it. I wonder if Admin wanted the sack from his dull unglamorous unpaid job?

  8. Been trying to answer all afternoon, it's kind of hit and miss for some reason.
Been on the Torygraph for about a week solid playing "Whack a Mole" with the little Englanders and their naive slaverings; it's great fun, like the Scotsman used to be, but sometimes I get the feeling that there are people on there who really want to load up the cattle trucks...

    1. The Telegraph forum can be a bit loopy. The Guardian CIF contributors can be equally strange too, but with an obvious change of sign. Clearly they dislike one another far more than either dislike the SNP -- as a Whig I can contemn both... The Scotsman has been less fun recently. I hardly post there now, despite being in Edinburgh more. Happy New Year!

  9. I'm not sure what the biggest sin of the poor sod's humor attempt was. !. It wasn't funny. 2. I immediately called Godwin's Law 3. Anyone who didn't know better needs to be relegated to a remedial class for toxic stupidity.

  10. Beyond that, with enemies like that the SNP doesn't need friends. ;-)

  11. I call it shooting brainless fish in a barrel on the DT;

The eejits don't realise theey have had both barrels and still keep coming back for more.

    They don't seem to learn.

Definitely a Darwin award for evolutionary extinction is due.

  12. Personally, I thought it was quite funny but I understand and accept that, from a politician as opposed to a comedian, it was in truly bad taste. However, what do you expect from someone like him?

  13. Update on the Cochrane clan. Jenny Hjul has got a billet with the Courier and is spouting out her usual from there. Apparently last week she said that an independent Scotland would be like a bannana republic.
